Secrets St. James Montego Bay Review:
An all suites, all inclusive resort for adults. This is a well reviewed all inclusive resort that opened in 2010. The resort is primarily visited by couples. Guests have exchange privileges with Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay located next door.
The rooms, beach, views, restaurants, grounds, staff, etc… are all upscale. Secrets resorts have a higher price tag per night, but you also get a more luxurious experience compared to most other all inclusive resorts. Most guests are impressed unless they have stayed at one of the Secrets resorts in Mexico which have better locations.
The restaurants are all located on the beach side of the property. Some of them offer outside dining along with their internal air conditioned dining areas. There is no tedious reservation system at this resort. It is first come, first serve with plenty of drink options while you wait with a pager. After dinner, the bars serve premium drinks and offer good nightly entertainment options.
The beach is clean white sand with almost no rocks or seaweed. The water is a turquois blue that will fill your memories for years. Take a look at the video tour below to get a better idea of just how good the beach is. The pool area is also nice with poolside bars and grills keeping you full and happy. During the busy season, there often is a morning game of reserving chairs which is annoying.
There is a Preferred Club at Secrets St. James with extra services, the best rooms and a private pool and beach section. If you can afford it, the Preferred Club is well worth the cost. You will be pampered beyond belief and you won’t have to worry about fighting for a pool or beach chair.
The main downfall of Secrets St. James is that most of the entertainment and services are located at the Secrets Wild Orchid located next door. This means the amount of walking can add up over the week if you plan to enjoy the nightly entertainment options.
