Riu Guanacaste Review:

A huge all inclusive resort for singles, couples, and families in a fairly isolated area of Costa Rica. Families and an older crowd will feel more welcome here as there is little nightlife or activity for young people and singles. This resort is in a beautiful setting, but the overall experience is not that of a five star resort.

The beach is not white sand. It is a coral beach with an isolated feel. No local vendors peddling parasailing or jet ski rides here. Take some beach shoes with you as the coral can be unpleasant on your feet. The water can get a little rough and there are boulders near the shore that need to be removed as soon as possible. Body surfing the waves at this resort is a dangerous activity.
